NBC’s 30 Rock sucks in Cougar arena

Speaking of the writer’s strike, NBC’s half-hour show “30 Rock” aired their final new episode last week before shutting down production. The November 29 airing was called “Cougars” and it sucked. It’s lame when TV writers try to pull story topics directly from current headlines or slang.

Tina Fey (Liz Lemon) and her love interest had no chemistry, in fact I suspect her younger co-star might have been gay. The show doesn’t use Jane Krakowski (Jenna) enough either. Jane has been one of the sexiest actresses on TV since Ally McBeal second maybe only to Jessalyn Gilsig (Nip/Tuck, Prison Break). While Krakowski does have a hotter rack, Gilsig has a hotter mouth and always puts it to good use in her seductive performances.

Don’t bother watching 30 Rock at all, it was better last season but since they picked up the Golden Globe for best comedy series the show has become as vain and loathsome as its characters. Alec Baldwin is its only positive. In fact I heard a rumor that Baldwin’s character, Jack Donaghy, is based on a real-life FOX studio executive who acts as obnoxious as Baldwin. Wow, what a stroke of creative brilliance.

Maybe if Hollywood’s writers wrote better they would get what they want. Instead they are greedy, vain and putting a lot of middle-class people out of work with their selfish strike.

Along with clogging up my DirecTV with reruns.

Instead, E!’s countdown of the 25 Hottest Hollywood Cougars is worth a look.
